Wayne Henderson, “World’s Greatest Guitar Maker”

Wayne Henderson has been called the world’s greatest guitar maker.

There’s a 10-year waiting list to get one of his guitars. He once made Eric Clapton wait seven years to get one.

“There are legendary tales about how long it takes me to get a guitar made,” Henderson, 68, said by phone.

Next week, Henderson’s guitar-making skills will be featured on a new TV show called “Handcrafted America.” Hosted by Jill Wagner (former co-host of “Wipeout”), the show features Americans who still work with their hands.
