Murals by Hamilton Glass have become part of the Richmond landscape.
Glass burst onto the Richmond mural scene with his controversial mural behind a Fan building, “Recession 2009,” a vivid portrayal of a politician with a gun to his head. Glass recently had been laid off from his job at a local architecture firm and mysteriously signed the work, “Ham?”
It was his first major mural, and the response was huge. While some people loved it, others at a nearby bed-and-breakfast demanded that the building’s owner take it down.
